NORMAN EBENSTEIN
FORMER PRESIDENT AND CHAIRMAN BOARD
CAPITAL COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES, INC.

About The Former CEO Norman ‘Norm’ Ebenstein

Norm Ebensten was born in NYC to Jeannette and Samuel Ebenstein. However, he was raised in the city of Worcester in Massachusetts. Norman, who was born in 1928, maintained a deep connection to his Jewish heritage. He strongly believed that education was important in society and he was proud of the accomplishments that his kids and grandchildren achieved.

For over 50 years, he operated Capital Commercial Properties. Throughout his time as the company’s president, Norm built a portfolio that included shopping malls, centers, and multifamily residential properties. One of his proudest moments was playing a role in revitalizing Eden Center, which is located in Virginia.

The center went on to become a social focal point, as well as a cultural one, for the East Coast Vietnamese-American community. This is just one of the many things he has accomplished. He also enjoyed giving back to the community by contributing to non-profits. Furthermore, he created the Norman Ebenstein Foundation, which he did so he could support his many philanthropic activities.

Norm Ebenstein attended Brown University, where he graduated with an economics degree. He also played baseball while at Brown University. He met Shirley Gorlick while studying at the university and went on to marry her. They were together for over 60 years.

After graduating from Brown, Norm went to Boston University and earned a law degree. One of his favorite past times was playing tennis. In fact, he was known for playing tennis well into his 80s.

Norm Ebenstein was based in Boca Raton, but he was far more than a real estate developer as he was also a philanthropist. He passed away in 2016 at his home. His family announced his death and said he was intelligent and had a huge personality. They said that he would also be remembered for the love he had for his family.

Norman Ebenstein is survived by his family. This includes his wife, daughter, and son, as well as his son’s wife. He’s also survived by his grand-kids.
